P.S. This included a 20% multi policy discount with Allstate.
Allstate backed out of insuring us, said it was because of the asbestos siding, needing the eaves painted, and we needed new roofs on the outbuildings(which aren't worth the space they are currently taking up on our property)

We actually went a year without coverage until the mortgage company finally figured it out. After allstate, the next company said something about needing new wiring. Then another said our house was too old for them to insure. Others wouldn't even come out and give us an estimate.

Oh that's awful! I was thinking about changing insurance companies once we are confirmed (ch 13), but when I was out getting quotes, the agencies were talking about coming into the home and taking pictures! Yikes! I need a new floor in one of the bathrooms (water damage) and I don't want to risk not being able to get insured again! I think I'll just stay with Allstate...at least just for the house.

            Good Luck!
