Hold on to your check stubs!!!

If you are having your payments deducted from your paycheck, please make sure the right amount is being deducted or you may have this problem....On June 25 we had our modification hearing and it went very well. Our payment was reduced from $1083.00 semi monthly to $883.00 semi monthly, beginning July 1. My husband has this taken directly out of his payroll at work. The payment she received on July 7 was for the original $1083.00 so she is supposed to send us a check for $200.00. Well, here it is July 28 and no check. We went online to the trustee 13. com website and have found out that the check she received on July 18 was $500.00 short. According to my hubby's checkstub she received the $1083.00. Where is the other $500.00?? Who knows??!! Floating around in space is my guess. She now owes us
$ 400.00 ( according to his check stubs) but today I received an email from the trustee stating that we owe her $500.00. We will be contacting payroll tomorrow to see what happened. To make a long story short...hang on to every checkstub you receive!! This will be your only proof that the trustee is being paid. If you are able to use the trustee13.com website ( your trustee sets it up for you) Use It!! It is a great way to see who and what you are paying. We are in this for 5 years so I already have a drawer full of checkstubs ( I even save mine) and letters from the attorney and the trustee. Save everything you get!! I will let you know what we find out and if the money has arrived from outer space.

Thanks for the information! We haven't filed yet, but I love to hear everyone's experience (rather it be positive or negative) it puts my mind at ease.

Good Luck in finding that extra "floating" $$$....

Update....contacted payroll this morning and they are running behind. They will transfer the $1083.00 today ( supposed to been done on July 16) to trustee. They will not change payment(according to modification) until Aug 1. They do not know what the $332.00 is that they transferred to her on July 20 . It is not a gainshare or bonus check, so guess it is free money. No, knowing our luck they will take it back out of his check later. Kinda wish we had agreed to make payments ourselves instead of letting payroll take care of it. I do have a question for anyone else who is having it took out of their check....is the company allowed to charge us money for doing this? It's only $1.00 each time, but over 5 years it adds up. Will keep you posted on what happens!!

I know it is a lot of trouble to do it manually, but I would rather mail a money order to the trustee via snail mail with return receipt. And hang onto that green signed receipt as proof that it got to the trustee's office. It only costs about $5.00.

I know that will be hard for large payments.

I STILL have each and every pay stub from my 13, and also the money order receipt from making the first payment when payroll didn't get the order in time to take it out of my check. I will probably hang on to them the rest of my life.

            I agree! Keep them.
Husbands company was taking money out each week and paying trustee 1 time a month. We got a Motion to Dismiss because payment was late. The company had the money and had not sent it yet. Our attorney told us to just keep paystubs proving it was taken out of check. It all worked out so far, but I was in nervous wreck! Keep the paystubs.

I even have a spreadsheet that every time trustee is paid, I enter what week end it's from and when it was posted on National Data Center. My attorney at first thought the Motion to Dismiss was that we had not paid for the weeks my husband was out of work, but thanks to this spreadsheet, i knew exactly where the missing money was.

            Keep everything!

Well, here it is July 31st and the trustee still has not received July 16th pay. Plus she should receive Aug 1st pay tomorrow. Geez!! The trustee did send us the $200.00 overage that was paid July 1st. She will send us the rest when she gets paid. So now it is just wait and see. I hope this doesn't become a habit with payroll!!
