    Stimulus check after confirmation hearing

I was scheduled to get $ 1800.00 in 5/08. IRS letter at that time said there was a delay in processing my payment. I contacted the IRS today to inquire as I still had not received any further info on the status of the rebate. IRS said their info shows that my case is "in litigation". My final confirmation hearing was 7/17/08 and my case was confirmed. IRS says it will take 4 to 6 weeks for any new info to appear. Just wondering if any one has had a similar experience and what the results were.

    Filed: 1/30/08
    341 Mtg: 3/10/08
    Confirmed: 3/27/08
    Confirmation hearing: 7/17/08

    Hi lucky#13:

I sorry, isn't there a three-legged-blind in one eye-half dead pitbull dog, with AIDS on posters everywhere, asking "Where's Lucky?"

I'm sorry again. Seriously, welcome to this forum. While I do not have C13 experience per se, I can tell you what happened to our stimulus check. It was gobbled up before it got out the door. We owe something like 10K on our 2007 taxes and FINALLY after a long wait, we got a notice telling us that our Stimulus went toward that debt.

Do you have a similar problem? And the paperwork everywhere is behind.

    Good luck!

      Hi Ang,

Thanks for the humor and the reply.

Yes we do owe taxes from 2007 but they are included in the plan. We did not owe anything for income tax, only business related taxes.

On our plan, we are allowed $500.00 refund on income taxes. Which means ...we would have got a $1200.00 stimulus check, but the trustee kept $700.00 of it and sent us the remaining. Not sure how that will work next year( if there is a stimuls check). Better than nothing I guess, but I thought the government wanted to stimulate the economy and I really could have stimulated the economy with the other $700.00!!
