So glad it's over... I had gone back and forth with not knowing if I was going to be able to find childcare for my 2 year old daughter. I had heard some people say that they had seen children at their 341 but it's obviously not preferable. Well, got my MIL to watch my daughter. My daughter is somewhat clingy to me and had never been left with her before (and rarely sees her). So I don't know what I was more nervous about, my daughter, or the 341!!!
So we get there and there is one small room with chairs, and two doors, one on each side. So it looks like we really can't just hear all the other cases before us. So we're in the room and there are a few other people there. DH says, we're the only ones that didn't bring a bunch of paperwork... I said, we don't need to bring anything except our Drivers License and social security card. We watch some of the other people, and there is one girl talking with her attorney and he's flipping through her file, asking her questions, writing things down. It sounded like his office was NOT on top of things. At one point she said, does that mean they haven't fixed this yet and he said no, I'm sure they did, and if they haven't, it'll get fixed... I would've been TICKED!!! So anyway, they call the entire group that is set for our hour block, there are 5 of us I think. We're the first ones. So we have seen nobody before us, even though we were 30 minutes early
We do our oath, he runs through the questions, did you sign the forms, are you aware of any changes, are you expecting any inheritance, blah blah blah, and then he says, thank you and hands us our stuff and says we're done. It took 2 minutes! I was so relieved!!!! No creditors showed up either (I had thought they wouldn't but did have a slight worry that our local credit union would show up ($10K credit card plus 2 cars crammed)).
And our daughter did great!!! So double good news!!!
After being there, I'm so glad that we didn't have to bring our daughter - she just turned 2, so she's not exactly good at listening and sitting quietly. It would've been so much extra stress!!! None of the people in our group had children with them but when we left there was one person with their daughter, but she was closer to 10 years old, obviously old enough to occupy herself and sit quietly...
