Chapter 13 in Los Angeles - Any Advice?

Hey all - looks like I'll be filing a Chapter 13 in Los Angeles. If only they would accept the automobile cost of ownership deduction for fully-paid off cars here in the West, but that's another story...

I've already retained an attorney, he's been great, doing this 30 years, really responsive. He'll be putting the balance of his payment in with the rest of my debts so I dont have to worry about that.

Anyone have any advice on the local lay of the land? Anything I should keep an eye out for?

Although projecting 5 years down the road is hard to do, you need to be sure your vehicles are ready to run for the next 5 years and be sure that your budget is something you are comfortable with.

I am close by,lets stay in touch.

I have three cars, one old one paid for, one ona lease that I WISH would end and one that a friend loaned me money for.

My attorney said to make sure I had a perfected note for the car and he would fight the trustee if he needed to.

I am going to try for a 7 and see what happens.

Sounds great. I have a meeting with my attorney in mid-September. I'll let you know if I learn anything good about CH13 in LA. Fun!
