Purple, in Ch 13 there is no discharge then closing as there is in Ch 7. In Ch 13 there is only a final discharge which simultaneously closes the Ch 13 case.

9 months, I'm scared now.
A little confused too. Not sure what you mean about unsecureds holding money or whatever.
I made my last payment to my Trustee last month. They dispursed all of the money on 9-17-08. The trustee report says I still owe them 1 penny. I'll call them tomorrow on that.
Anyway, I came on here looking to find out how long it should take to close my case.

Very happy for you to have yours closed, hoping mine goes faster in New Jersey.

not holding money per say but not dispursing to our creditors. kept in our account instead of sending out . Then deciding to increase us to 100% payback .So sending out another set of checks. It was crAzy!Best of luck for a speedy discharge.

I imagine our trustee makes a lot of money on additional interest. The available balance in our account is currently 30,000.

When you say they increased you to 100% payback, does that mean they made you pay additional payments beyond your 36. We have one payment left, but since they have not really updated the 13datacenter data with any meaningful data I am holding my breath that they will some how change things and we wont be done.

No soccermom they did not extend beyond the 36 months of payment when all our creditors that filed were payed 75% we still had money left so they then increased us to 100% & sent out another to check to everyone they had already payed then we got a refund check for the remainder best of Luck & congrat on being at the very end
