How soon after you actually file does it hit credit?

I was wondering if anyone knew if your credit is toast when you leave the attorneys office or does it take 30 days or how and when is bankruptcy reported on your credit report.

I have Score Watch with myfico.com and saw that my score dropped 28 points three days after filing Chapter 7.
