Got a job... I start on the 15th, so that would be exactly one month without a job. I am going to take a pay cut because there really was no other option but I think that I will have much better opportunities where I am going. I'm excited about their benefits. I've been calling and calling my attorney trying to get them to file a motion to miss a payment as is only right, because I didn't work for a month and I don't want to default. I also should note that I got married on the 22nd of November. LOL. That is a nice bright spot in my life at the moment. My DS is darling as ever and I did my mediocre Christmas shopping today, thank God he will only be 5 when this is over and won't remember these hard years. Anyway, I wanted to update y'all. DH is going to Mississippi for 4 weeks starting Tuesday and will make the equivalent of what he made at his old place of employment in 3 months. That's going to savings and pre-paying rent so that when new baby comes we will be okay with me on *unpaid* maternity leave. Wish us luck, and tell me what y'all think...

Glad to hear things are looking up! Congrats on the wedding and the baby.
I know what you mean about Christmas. Our first child turned 13 months old today and its sad to think what a mess we've made of things. We actually waited 14 years to start a family so we would be financially sound. Funny huh. lol. I'm in real estate and DH is in automotive. Our 341 is this Tuesday.
Do you have a good resale shop nearby? I've gotten some fabulous toys recently at ours for anywhere from $2 for Tonka trucks and $9 Fisher Price little people sets that you can't tell aren't new. These little guys are just happy to play and don't care where the toy comes from!

Really I am not being nasty but I am very surprised you got a job. I look at it that you had 2 strikes against you (were you live and being pregnant). Being you got a job has changed my view of mankind. Congradulations on the job and getting married. I got this strange feeling you have a couple of angels looking after you.
Now can you send a couple of your angels over to my place?Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17

I know what you mean! LOL... So here's the longer story of what happened with the new job..Originally posted by BigJohn View PostReally I am not being nasty but I am very surprised you got a job. On November 11th I had my first interview with Tyco Thermal and it lasted 2 hours. I didn't say ANYTHING about being pregnant at this interview and I had a really good feeling about it.... BUT a week goes by and I hear nothing. I email the recruiter that had been in contact with me, following up and thanking them for their time. She says she'll be in contact later in the week. On the following Thursday (November 20th) the project manager calls me (leaving a voicemail since my stupid phone didn't register his call) and says that he would like to get together as soon as possible and talk some things over and see if we could get moving forward. I call back on Friday morning, busy with wedding stuff for the following day. I tell him I am getting married that Saturday and he asks about if I'm taking a honeymoon and when we can meet. I say that I am going to be back sometime on Sunday or Monday and we could get together as soon as I get back. Well I call Tuesday and get voicemail... I leave a message saying something to the effect that with the holiday coming up it might be better to meet up after Thanksgiving weekend. I call again on Monday. Voicemail.... and AGAIN..... voicemail. Finally he calls me back.. Says that he would like to meet Tuesday and that I should call him back if he didn't call me in a couple of hours with a time to meet. I ended up not getting ahold of him until like 4:30!! So we set up a meeting at 10 the following day which was Tuesday the 2nd. It goes well. This is when I told him that though I was advised not to tell him I am six months pregnant before an offer was made, that I just didn't feel right about it. I told him I am due at the end of March and that I could work up until the day that I am scheduled to deliver (barring the unforeseen). He appreciated that, and told me that it wouldn't be a problem. I met with him for about an hour where he told me that he is about to promote 3 of his CAD 1 drafters (what I am, at $18 an hour) straight to CAD 1 designers (about 3 steps above me, at $30 an hour) that had only been there 7 MONTHS. That takes YEARS usually. He said that I seem ambitious just like them and that he wants this to be a CAREER move for me (as in permanent). So anyway I am really excited about this. I am going to experience a paycut, but the insurance is a couple hundred cheaper a month and I will be able to get insurance after only 30 days... so yet another awesome thing. Anyway... the meeting ends and he tells me that I should expect an offer letter through Fed-Ex on Thursday morning... it didn't come. It came on Friday afternoon and I missed it and picked it up Saturday. The offer is $19 an hour (or 39,520.00 annualized) with a good possibility of overtime. Anyway.... that's the whole long story, sorry for the book. I think I just found a really good company for myself... Here's me sending a couple of angels your way...

I know you are so relieved to have work, even if at a pay cut.
Did you ever hear from the lawyer about skipping a payment? If not, I think I would call the trustee and tell them the lawyer won't get back to you and ask what to do.Chapter 13 filed -8/12/04

I'm going to call my attorney a couple more times this week and on Wednesday I plan on just showing up. I also am probably going to have to do an amendment and lower my payment a bit, so I really need to get ahold of him.Disclaimer: Young, NOT Dumb.(._.) I'm glad to hear everything is working out for you
I know every state is different, but at the trustee's office for my district, when someone calls the main number, there is an option for requesting to miss a payment. Hopefully, it won't be a problem for you. Good luck with your new job
Oh, and congrats for your marriage and new baby

I used to be an engineer, actually I went to school for computer engineering. When the economy was bad, so was work. I got out that type of work before 1996. So every once in a while I come across cynical so if you have to, just ignore me.Originally posted by NowImDownInIt View PostI'm going to call my attorney a couple more times this week and on Wednesday I plan on just showing up. A little frustrated....
..Argh... Sometimes I think that the well educated people in this forum could probably do more good for me than my law office. I just got in touch with my paralegal and once again, I have been told that there is nothing that they can do until I get behind. I am about 492 ahead right now, because of my wage order and the first payment I sent through, but in two weeks I am going to be 208 behind and catching up (as she suggested to me) is not a viable option in the plan. I have to put my son back in daycare and I'm going to be making less money. Doesn't she understand how a 13 works??? She said "I think you'll still be able to cover that" UGH... I have a $700 a month plan and I will be making around $800 less, so how does she figure? Is she even listening. She told me to call back once I start getting really behind, because then they can do a modification. I think that they are being like this because any motions filed within 120 days of filing are covered in my original attorney's fees and after that I have to pay like $450 for a modification. Just GREAT!
