    Finishing up Chapter 13

Finally without any further problems we should be complete with our Chapter 13 next month. There were many creditors that not file a claim so we ended up paying 100% on the ones that did. Once I have the final court document in hand showing completion of the Chapter 13 can I then have the other creditors that have not claimed remove the past due amounts on my credit report? Is there any way that they can come back to haunt us?

    Thanks

    Ron

    Hi, Ron.

My understanding is you cant' remove anything from your credit report unless it is actually incorrect.

You can, however, write to the different credit reporting agencies and ask them to put a note against the creditors in question, such as "this creditor did not file during chap 13; completed on ____ (date)" or something along those lines. I imagine each agency is a little bit different, but they should have info online on what to do.

those creditors that did not file a claim against, their claims are discharged if they did not file a proof of claim. You can write to credit bureaus, and include copy of discharge order asking them to show those debts have been discharged
