how does a 13/7 conversion work?

what are the steps? or deciding factors?

do we have to redo all of the paperwork, or can we use most of the paperwork from our 13 filing back in October?

I'm really curious to know how this works.

Were you eligible for a 7 when you filed, but filed CH 13 to save an asset? Or has there been a change in circumstances that will allow you to file CH 7 now when you couldn't qualify before? I think that will make a big difference on how much more paperwork is needed, if your prior paperwork showed you eligible for a 7, maybe not much additional work, but if your finances changed to the point that you can now file CH 7, probably have to do a lot more paperwork to show this is the case.

we were not eligible for a 7 when we filed, and we had assets.

Our income just went from $6400 (net) to between $2200 & $4000 (net). Our 13 payment alone is $1380. no way to pay the mortgage, let alone try to keep up with utilities while keeping food on the table. There is no way to know what our income will do from month to month in this economy.

I'm in the same boat...my atty is requesting my last 6 months income and is making a motion to convert to a 7...we'll see how it goes.

How could you file a motion to convert it when you haven't even confirmed yet? Nice name btw.
