Tax Refund Question

Can you petition the court to keep more of your tax return than alloted? We are supposed to turn over anything more than $250 to the Trustee of our refund. Well our income from 2007 to 2008 dropped 40k because my husband was out of work for almost 5 months. We managed to keep making our plan payment because I got a second job and we cut back even more on things. My car needs new brakes and tires and the tax return could easily pay for it.

Just wondering if anyone had had any luck with this?

I'm going through the same crap right now. Before filing my attorney told me we would be able to keep our refund. Now it is up in the air. We are going to meet with him next week. This is a very gray area. We are expecting a very large refund. I guess it really depends on your trustee.
