Hi everyone!! I have a job interview tomorrow as a loss prevention associate at a major retailer. Here is my question...if they say something about a credit check should I tell them about our Chapter 13 or wait? If they ask, what do I say? I know I have a slim chance of getting the job anyway ( no experience) but I would love to get some use out of my Criminal Justice degree. Thanks for any suggestions!!

By the fact that you have this degree, be totaly honest before they even ask, that you have had to make a BUSINUSS DECISION to go bk in the past. They will see it anyway, but make it look as a professional decision. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? I agree with Hub. Be honest. I applied for a job over a year ago with a financial institution and, of course, they do a credit check. I was up front before they pulled the report and told them about the chapt. 13. I advised them it was a business decision and while I wasn't proud about it, I felt that I was making a wrong situation right. I basically summed it up as, sometimes bad things do happen to good people.
I got the job.

I applied for a job that did a credit check also. The Chapter 7 showed up smack dab in the middle of the report, as clear as day. I still got the job!Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008
341 - 11/26 went smooth
NO ASSET
Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09
