    Thanks for the great story! Personally, I'm preparing the family for just the change in lifestyle you mention. I'd love to see people's strategies post filing. I've read that people do just fine if they are creative and frugal.

      My experience is that you'll have to drop your 401k contribution down to 5% or less, whatever is seen as "in good faith" by your trustee. Beyond that, if the current 401k loan expires during the 60 months, those funds will dump into the plan after the loan is complete.

      Just pray that you don't get ECast or a group like them holding you up in court for a year like we did. They love to write 40 page objections detailing their interpretation of the code.
