How Long Until They Stop The Chap 13 Payments?

Once I am done with my Chapter 13 in three years, or if I refinance after 36 months, how long does it take until the court stops taking the payments from my check?

I've heard some real horror stories out there and my fear is that I refinance after 36 months and get out of the 13, but they keep taking the payments from my check for months afterwards and I can't pay the new mortgage amount on time because the Trustee is still taking the money.

Anyone have experience with this on how long it takes the court to tell your employer to stop the payments?

First off, probably the worst thing you can do is re-finance to get out of the chapter 13, so don't bother with that.

It varies from district to district, you should have had the option to mail the payments directly instead of doing a payroll deduction.
