Question about car buying!

I can't remember if I talked about this or not but my husbands motor went out in his truck and we havent even went to court yet. Bad luck lurks on us! Anyway, we contacted a dealership today that said they'd help us and that they just needed something from the trustee. Do I have to do anything special or just call our trustee. I feel like such a fool especially since we havent even been to court yet. What should I do?

When you are in a 13, you must seek the permission from the Trustee to incur any new debt. In my case, I have to have the Trustee's permission for any debt that I incur over $1000. This is something you need to speak with your attorney about and he/she is the one that asks the permission from the Trustee.

Your welcome. I just noticed in your post that your case isn't confirmed yet. Back in April of this year, I got permission to incur debt to buy a newer vehicle. My attorney had said what helped me was probably the fact that I was surrendering the vehicle that was in my plan, and also the fact that I had been in my plan for almost two years at the time with no late or missed payments to the Trustee.

I see but we don't have any car loans right now.
