Converting from Chapter 13 to 7 attorney fees question

I will be converting from chapter 13 to chapter 7 within the next year due to a child on the way. I just started into my chapter 13 and noticed that all of my first few payments went to my attorney so he was paid off. I love how he told me that the remaining $2300 attorney fees were going to be spread out through the 5 year plan.

My question is since he is paid in full now can he legally charge me attorney fees for chapter seven. Since 7 is cheaper in attorney fees and he wont be working for me over the last 4 years. How does this work out then?

Attorney fees are considered priority so they are paid first in a chapter 13. Your lawyer probably meant that they are rolled in the plan rather than spread out throughout the plan. My attorney has a price list and on it is a fee for a conversion. I think that he/she should get paid again because he/she did the work for the 13 and now there is more work to complete the conversion. Some of the fees are also court related.
Best Wishes for a smooth conversion!
