I am going to keep the car. I can't see going in the hole again. The part goes for $65. I have to take out the dash board to get at the part (Temperature Blend Door Actuator) It is an all day job for a backyard mechanic. (The ford dealer wanted from $450 to $600 labor) The lawyer has found a $200 monthly expense. This will up our monthly payment to $1500 for 36 months. We have to give it a try.

SC, just to let you know, I know VERY WELL the problems with aged people and heat/cold. I remember coming home(Day 1) during a 4 day 100 degree plus week and finding Mom in her chair gasping (No, she never smoked, but did work in smoking enviorments) and in 35 min, I had a small a/c unit blowing on her.
She stayed in her chair for 2 days (With me helping to bathroom) and survived that close call. Since then, I have gone to great lengths to make sure SHE gets it first, whatever it is....Hot? cold water, Cold? Heat and warm blankets.
I once had to replace the heater core on a van..Yep, 4 hours. But only cost me $55...Wish I was there, would be glad to help.
I go further into what I am doing, but we all know what happens when the body (Especially the internal works) start acting up and how this makes the previously independent feel about it.

Hey Douche Bag, You never heard about someone dying in a car cause of no heat? How bout Buffalo 1-28-1977 a dozen people froze to death on the Buffalo Skyway after getting caught and stranded in a lake effect blizzard. Or Boston in Feb of 1978 where a few people froze to death on the Mass Pike during the blizzard of 78, after getting stranded in their car with no heat. Dying in a car with no AC? How about Houston, 9-2005, people dying of heat stroke while sitting in their beaters on wheels on the highways leading out of the city after a mass evacuation of the city cause of a cat. 5 hurricane approaching, but you already know that right, scumbag? The Senior Citizen is one of my "Brothers", so step back from your keyboard a minute, hero. You got a bad ass attitude that a good ole Brooklyn beating would cure, little boy.Originally posted by LightningI've not heard of someone dying in a car that didn't have heat or air conditioning.
Perhaps you should live closer to work, shopping, and healthcare if the trip in the car there can kill you. Everyone knows that heating and cooling systems in vehicles can fail.

OFF THE METER REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't drink but if I were to meet you I'd definitely buy the beer and share it! I thought today how badly i would like to introduce Lightning to some of our Overtown and Liberty City residents and let him put his diplomacy into practice but you said it best. You know how it is, an arrogant look can buy you a beating. Hats off to you and all New York Fire Fighters.
What a sniveling little chicken crap he is... Lightning?! I think his name should be Smudge! I live in the lightning capital of the world and work with 700 volt third rail power. I've seen Lightning strike BIG TIME in the Train Yard, this PO you know what ain't "Lightning". I respect lightning not "Lightning".Last edited by robivi3; 12-11-2005, 06:08 PM."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing." Nature & Newstart-Lightning is long gone. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
