Less than a week ago my parents notified that they have sold the property in which our double wide (mobile home) sits on. We have been there for 11 years and knew they were in debt themselves and were trying to sell their house and property. Never imagined that it would sell so quickly. So we have been notified we have 45 days to move our home from the property.
We have only 11.5 months of our Chapter 13 plan to go and we believe our only option is to surrender the home and rent a house elsewhere. In order to do this we have to stop the money from coming from my husbands checking account.
As anyone had to face surrendering a house so close to the end? What about just walking away from it all now. All our secured and priority loans are paid -- the money is just pooling waiting to pay the unsecured debts at 42%. I have an appointment in the morning with the attorney but I am going to lose another nights sleep worrying about this.
