I am in a chapter 13 now and it has only been 9 months.
Having issues with my daughter and need to be home with her.
Would I qualify for Chapter 7 if I quit my job???
Depends in part on why you filed ch. 13. Were you paying off mortgage arrears, stripping a 2nd mortgage? Ch. 7 cannot help with these while a ch. 13 can.
If you simply had too much DMI for a ch. 7, and your payments are paying unsecured & trustee only - you can probably convert if your income drops. Contact your atty and discuss your income/expenses as they are now and potential changes.
Get mortgage modified: DONE!7 months of back interest payments amortized, payment reduced over $200/mo (In the 'planning' stage, to file ch. 13 if/when we have to.)
