Question on C13 balance on Credit Report

I posted this on the credit repairing forum but got no reply. Maybe someone in here can help.

My C13 was discharged on August 2005. I recently pulled a credit report from CSC Credit Services. I notice that some are reported per the following.

Current Status - Included in Wage Earner Plan - Account involved in C13 debt adjustment.

Item as of Date Reported 2/2006
    Balance Amount $2430.

There are a few like the above with a balance showing. There are also some with a past due amount.

My question is - Shouldn't the balance be 0 now since I've completed my C13 program and also there shouldn't be any late balances right?

    Please advise.

    Thank you in advance.

You said you did a Chapter 13? Is your payment plan over and paid in full to the courts?? Or was your Chapter 13 dismissed for any reason?

If not, then these entries need to be disputed and corrected with the credit bureau. You will have to write letters to the credits requesting them to correct their credit reports they sent to the credit bureau.......

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I completed my 36 month program. Received my discharge paper in August 2005. I was pretty sure the balance should be 0 since my C13 is over. I will contact them to get it resolve. Thanks again. Trying to rebuild and start over.

These credit agencies really tee me off. They have no accountability and no way to easily contact them. They can put whatever they want on your credit or feel to update anything and it is your YOUR responsibility to fix their error. Even in this day and age if the internet, you still need to MAIL them something.

You did your part and successfully got through your Chapter 13 and they turn around and don't even have the courtesy to correctly update your credit report.

*sigh* I feel better now that I vented. LOL

CSC Credit Services is probably the worst of all of them.

We had some buyers back out on the sale of our first house. We weren't obligated to return their earnest money to them. They backed out. The earnest money was supposed to be ours because we lost potential sales during the time we thought they were gonna buy our house. The Buyers sued us to get their earnest money deposit back. About a year and a half later, we all decided to settle and split the money. Case closed, right??

Years, and I mean years later. 3 States later, even. We go to buy a car and the Lender says this Judgement has popped up in our credit history. HUH?? We've bought 2 houses and several vehicles since then without a peep about a problem in our credit. So I ask the Lender for details about the Judgement. He tells me all about it and at first it didn't even make any sense. Finally I put it all together and realized it was the stupid Earnest Money lawsuit.

Since we didn't have paperwork to prove it didn't exist, I had to contact our old attny's office to get documentation. The gal in the attny's office told me CSC had opened an office there in town about a 6 months before I called. They were causing all kinds of problems for people. Probably one of CSC's investigators went to the Court House to check us out, found the law suit, and didn't track it to the conclusion to know the issue had been settled. The investigator just found the law suit and registered it as a Judgement in our credit history. The attny's office faxed a copy of the court docs to our lender and sent us a Certified Copy of the Court papers in the mail.

Then, I had to deal with CSC to get the Judgement removed. I sent CSC copies of the Court docs and thought we were all done with that issue. Well, no we weren't. Seems CSC removed the Judgement from Hubby's credit history, but not from mine.

So, later, when we go to borrow money again, can't remember what for that time, but the Lender comes back and says I have a Judgement in my credit history. Same info as before. We took the Certed Court Docs to the Lender so they could see for themselves about the so called "Judgement". But I was FURIOUS!! I called CSC, prefaced what I was gonna say with, "I know you are not the person responsible for this," and then I peeled the earlobe right off the Rep that answered the phone. She didn't even bother with telling me I needed to send in copies of the Court Docs again. She removed the Judgement right then and there on the phone. I did follow up and send copies of the Court Docs AGAIN just to be sure there was no question they corrected my credit report information.

CSC was reporting a "Judgement" that never existed in the first place in my credit report for in excess of 10 years from the start date of the law suit. The Judgement had been in Hubby's credit report for 6 or 7 years without us knowing. Unreal. All because a CSC employee was too stinkin' lazy to do their job right in the first place.
