    Just received a collection notice from a creditor

    I just received a collection notice from a collection agency today. I filed on 7/30 and the original creditor was included. Is there anything I'm supposed to do? It's odd that I'm getting this now.

    I'm going to fax the letter to my atty, but am I supposed to do anything?

    If the original creditor was included, forward a copy of the discharge notice from your bankruptcy to the collection agency telling them that the debt was included in your bankruptcy. That should stop the collection attempts on their part.
    Filed pro se, made it through the 341, discharged, Closed!!!

      I've had a couple of my accounts passed around between collection agencies after I filed also. When I received their collection notices in the mail, I just called them up, and told them that debt was included in my BK and gave them my case#, and attorney's phone#. Haven't heard from them anymore.
      Filed: 5/22/07; 341 Hearing: 6/27/07;
      Confirmed: 8/13/07; DISCHARGED 4/17/2012
