I'm an "authorized User" of my wifes credit cards. Will she be effected?

I'm preparing to file for Chapter 13. I'm an "Authorized User" of my Wife's premium credit cards. My wife has steller credit and will not be filling with me. The cards are listed on my credit report. Is their anyway she or the cards can be affected? If so, what steps should I take prior to filing to avoid her or the cards being affected?

Thank you in advance for your help.

For the Best security, Have your wife remove you as a User on the cards. I wouldn't take the risk on your wife's behalf. If you tell the Trustee that your on your wife's cards as a User, He will order you off the cards.

If you are just an authorized user, not a co-signer, then you are not responsible for the cc debt - your wife is. You don't have to list the cards when you file because the cc debt isn't yours.

Still it's best to have her remove you from the cards before you file. That way there's no temptation to use them after filing rather than re-learning how to manage your debts successfully.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
