    At least you have some idea of what's going on.

    We went into that attny's meeting thinking we were a strong 7. Paid him the money to file it that way.

    Now the attny's saying he's gotta count Mom and son's incomes, even tho neither one contributes to the household expenses in anyway.

    Neither buys groceries for the family. Neither one pays the electric, phone, other utilities, or contributes to rent. But now we gotta count the incomes.

    Mom's washes out because SSI is exempt. Son's on the other hand gets added on top of ours. And it's looking like it will be enough to push us just over the Median.

    Sorry to steal your thread. Just had to vent.

      I kinda figured with your income, they would put you in a chapter 13. Hopefully, it will be a low enough payment that it won't hurt you. I am not sure why they can include your son's income...he isn't filing.

        Our 19 year old daughter was working full time when we filed and her income had absolutely no impact on ours whatsover. They didnt use her income, but they also wouldnt really let us include her as a dependant either so it was pretty much a wash.
