I'd be very surprised if the tt allowed a "gifts" line item.

Do you donate anything to charity on a regular basis? If so, you can claim that as well. Doesn't mean you should start now if you never have before...

Some other areas to ensure you cover (if applicable)

        Personal property taxes
Health Insurance deductibles (in addition to copays / meds)
        Pet food
        Vet care
Dental expenses (also include any deductibles)
Vision (eye exams, contacts, glasses, etc)
Auto insurance / home insurance premium increases (if in a credit profiling state due to filing BK)
Roadside assistance programs (AAA, Coachnet, Goodsam, etc)
        Newspapers / magazine subscriptions

Somewhere you need to budget for emergency fund; if you arent at the national standard in some areas, go up to whatever it is and pull from that. Murphy comes knockin'... trust me.

I used the national standard for the food/clothing/personal/misc. As far as operating expenses, housing/utilities/ and medical costs, we are above.

Frankly the operating allowance is a joke. Either they expect people to drive 5 miles to work or gas is $1.00 a gallon.
