Is there a chance?

Is there a chance our trustee will allow us to amend our plan just for one month? I'm asking because my husband is having bowel resection surgery next month and although we have insurance, I do not want to incur more medical debt. (one of the main reasons we are here!) He could not have it done before we filed as he didn't have enough sick leave and it would have cost us more for him to take leave without pay.

I will contact our attorney on Monday. Thanks as always for your help.

I dont think you will have any problems with this at all. I remember when we had our 341 meeting, there was a woman before us scheduled for some surgery and the trustee agreed to postpone their first payment for 4 months to accomodate this.
Then of course, as I have posted, ours allowed us to stop for 2 months for my sons braces. I hope it all works out for you and your husband has a speedy recovery!

Thank you, 13! I know I am probably worried for nothing. Today my mom was asking me how we would cover the 20% the insurance doesn't pay and I told her that the trustees are usually pretty good about that.

Thank you for the good wishes, too. Just talked to a good friend of mine from high school who is planning a very nice vacation this summer and just bought some expensive real estate. We, on the other hand, are going to be spending our vacation time in a hospital and on the sofa for a month and buying lots of lemon and lime jello!!

Oh well!!
