Claims in Chapter 13

I noticed on the NDC website that my claims are finally being paid. There are not as many creditors listed to be paid as what I filed BK on. Does that mean that some of the creditors did not file a claim to be paid? If so, does it mean that even though they did not file a claim that they are still included in my Bk and I will never have to pay them? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, if you filed on them (check to make sure account numbers, etc, are correct) and they didn't file a claim by the deadline, they are SOL.

How long does it actually take before they start paying the creditors? We have been in our 13 for 10 months and nothing has been paid out excpet some money to our trustee and lawyer.

It is my understanding the administrative cost come off the top, so the lawyers get paid first. Once the lawyer gets all of his/her fees paid, you should see money going to the creditors. Nothing is suppose to get paid until the case is confirmed.

We filed in Sept of 2005, and they paid the attorney first. Just last week they began paying the creditors.

helpless, don't worry, I don't think it will actually change your plan...unless you would be lucky enough that no creditors filed a claim.

No, doesn't change plan. I just sent in payment 13 of 37, so I am 1/3 of the way there. I guess that it really doesn't matter because we had so much CC debt that it wouldn't have cut any time off because the other creditors would have just gotten more. Just like seeing the balance come down on my trustees website.
