Is there a way to possibly refi the house and consolidate the loans into one payment. That might net you a few more $$/mo vs what you're currently paying??

We don't currently own one decent car right now. They're beaters. Get around town OK, but I wouldn't wanna go on the road with any one of them. But they're paid for. The thing I miss the most is remote zapping to unlock the car. I really hate having to get to the car and put a key in to unlock the door.

A year ago I would completely sympathize with you wanting to keep all your things. But now I realize that's all they are. THINGS.

What we've gone thru was an emotional beating. We literally lost everything. But, at the same time, it's been liberating. If we get all our CC debt discharged in BK, we'll have a clean slate and we won't owe any body ONE penny.

Now, less is better works well for us.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

We are looking into a refi right now. depends on the appraisal. We do not want to got the route of ch13 or ch7, there are other mitigating factors that BK would ruin.

your right about things. things are things. but I am not sure why everyone thinks cars should be let go. they are reliable modes of transportation to our jobs, not a luxury. we don't drive BMW's

we have actually made lifestyle changes over the last few months and thats why the comments about spending bother me. We are way past that. We have made the effort to change our lifestyle but the payments are still MORE than our income. We can't get out from under.

we are awaiting news on the refi. we absolutely do not want to do a BK.
BK is an absolute last resort...and I am on these boards to research it.

Thanks for all the great tips.
