Ok, I am not really sure how to explain this but I'll do my best. Hubby will go on a military deployment soon.... it is required that he utilizes his government cc for the trip. Turns out the issuer is BoA and I had a cc with them (my husband also had a card) that we inlcuded in our plan. I don't see this cc included as part of our unsecured debts and this card is only activated during his deployment time. I am afraid that is BoA sees an activity on the card, that they'll scream! I'm not sure how this could affect us... any thoughts?

I believe that it would never show up on his own individual credit report. Govt Cards are maintained by military comptroller sections (billing and reimbursement/contracts/etc departments). Payments to GOVT cards are (OR at least when I was in comptroller department for the marines) is handled by them. Also all items purchased by him are reviewed by the same group to verify that they are legitimate purchases etc.
Govt cards are exactly that...Govt cards and if the outside agency (in this case BoA), will receive paymennt from that branch of service your hubby is in.7/12/2001 Filed Chapter 13

zoomzoom...I would have your husband double check with BoA because the Government cards are done differently now than when Rob-NC was probably active. Now the cards are actually in the members name and can be reported to Credit Bureaus. Statements are sent to the individual now and payments are made by the member after all travel reimbursement claims have been filed. Before I retired from the Navy two years ago, we had many travellers that had to get advances because they could not get a 'government credit card' for one reason or another. Each command has a person that controls the accounts, as in, turning them on and off, as needed, and verifying that items purchased are for ligitimate 'official business'. Have him also check with this person to see what his options are.
Good luck,John, Virginia

Thanks. I will have him check with his command. I know the card is on his name and BoA does send statements to him. If he doesn't pay on time, then his command would urge him to - i guess they know who's missing payment and who's not -. I know that his card is not listed as one of our creditors in our plan. But I will tell him to check anyways! Thanks!
