Thank you so much for the kind words CAB!

It is amazing to be free of the yoke of a Bankruptcy....but I still don't think it has hit me yet. It is like....I almost can't beleive it. It is also scary.....like you come to depend on the power of the court to stop creditors and keep you on a budget....you just pray and hope that you learned enough to do it on your own once you are on the "outside."

But yes, it is AMAZING to be free again.....not having to consider the Trustee for every little financial decision I make......I know for sure that I will never be back in Bankruptcy again if I can help it! You never know what lifes throws at you, but I can tell you right now it won't be because of unpaid credit cards or unpaid car payments!

You bet JMAN~ YOU deserve to be joyful!!
I have no doubt you've learned this life hard lesson, and I can see it in the positive aspects of your writtings that you will NOT be back in a BK court....EVER~ !!
I can imagine what you mean about it being scary....
for me, it was scary when the attorney told me to stop paying the CC.....I was like..." ummmm....really??!!.....but...I've ALWAYS paid the CC's....are you SURE????"
Can't wait to be on the same side as you....
I'm just scared that they'll come up with some funky number and I'll have to pay almost as much as I had been paying on them and it'll just throw me straight off the deep end...it's the not knowing what the chap 13 payment will be....that's what I am scared of....I don't really have a problem with paying it back........it's just HOW MUCH???...cuz I HAVE been paying it FOR SO LONG ALREADY......is it gonna be the SAME hardship....for 5 MORE YEARS......I realize NO ONE can tell me this except the trustee....I'm just READY to get to THAT point!!!!!!! (at least I think I am...)
Thanks again~ SO Great to hear from you!!!!!
        take care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can always order an "unofficial" payoff from the Trustee that will give you a good approximation of how much you owe. You can order it directly from the Trustees office and it dosen't cost anything.

Cab, my attorney is about the same, he only tells us what he thinks we need to hear, so I made a huge list of questions on our 3rd visit to him and went thru everyone of em lol & I know he hates to see me coming
We haven't filed yet but on our next visit in Sept. we will be doing that, but I have another long list of questions that I have thought of since our last visit.
I've got a tablet that I jog down my question when I think of one...reading the threads on this site has given me alot more questions that I know we need to ask him too before actually filing too. Good luck with your attorney and hopefully she will open up soon.
            9/28/06: Filed Chapter 7

            1/12/07: Discharged & closed!!

Can't we change our minds and go somewhere else?
Of course we understand that we will loose the 300., but that is minimal to what we are afraid we'll lose using her as our attorney~
She just doesn't offer much info, and at times we both feel that we're not sure "Whose side she's on" ... we have to pry information out of her...
                what do you all think?
                Thanks!

You are always free to change attorneys at any time during your case, pre- or post-confirmation. It is very important that you have a lawyer in whom you have confidence and feel comfortable.

My attorney was the same way. It was like pulling teeth to get any information out of him, so I did my homework, asked alot of questions on this forum. Then when I would meet with the attorney or had questions, I knew my stuff. In the end, I ended up with a good plan and my attorney was impressed with my knowledge. Like I used to tell my attorney when his feathers would get ruffled, you are not the one in this plan for 5 years, so I need to know what I am facing.
