    need help!!!

My wife and I are considering filing BK7 and have consulted an attorney and never really got a certain question answered.
My wife takes care of her elderly parents and had her name on 2 bank accounts that they have. (1 checking (3K) and 1 savings (28K))
Since we started having financial problems, I had her take her name off both accounts so my creditors wouldnt go after THEIR money for my debt.

The attorney said one of the questions was if we had transfered any accounts or real estate in the past year and he didn't know how the trustee would react to this but, another attorney said she DIDN'T transfer or hide anything, all she did was take her name off the accounts.
This is NOT and never was OUR money. I need to find out what outcome this might have in a BK7 and if they even dig deep enough to find this out or not.
She only had her name on the savings account for about 2 months before it was taken off.
If they go after his money, I'm a dead man
    Any help would appreciated,
    Thanks.

I was in the same spot.

I was listed on my Mom's accts as a the secondary. Her SSN was the primary and the one reported for income tax purposes.

The only reason I was on there was IF something happened to Mom. If she was in the hospital, I could write a check to pay her health insurance. If she was sick, I could do things for her. The money is hers, not mine. I probably only wrote 2-3 checks on her behalf in all the years I was on her accts.

Our attny advised me to have my name taken off her accts. The accts are hers. We did not close them. She simply had my name removed from her accts. She did that back in February this year. Our attny did not disclose any information about those accts in our BK filing.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
