It's been 60 days since my 341 hearing. But my attorney left some creditors off the mailing matrix and so we had to file an amendment about 20 days after the 341 for the first half of the alphabet.
Do I have to wait another 20 days to get a discharge (I think the amended creditors can object for sixty days after we amended)?
And how long is it taking to get your discharge once the 60 days have passed?
By the way, the U.S. trustee checked over our Chapter 7 and requested tax returns and asked to answer some questions in writing. We did everything he asked and we never heard back. Just some reassurance for those who might be in a similar situation. My attorney said they are looking at pretty much all his bankruptcy filings that are close to or over $100K in debt. We are like $120K plus $50K in student loans.
I can't believe this nightmare may end soon. It's been so debilitating after years of struggle. Filing BR was so much the right thing to do, we had already lost our home and cleaned out my husband's 401K. My advice to people is file before you get to that point if you can.
