New to forum. Have checked line items but had a question. Does anyone here actually know of an instance where a private, not government backed, student loan was actually eliminated by a BK. Strange enough, Im a lawyer. A new lawyer. A new lawyer with quite a bit of credit card and student loan debt. I never really looked into any BK stuff in school b/c I never thought I'd need it or work in the area. However, as you all know life happens. I failed the bar exam by 1 point 3 times in TN before finally passing. TN has no appeals process, so my family and I struggled on. The debt incurred during law school and then in the prevailing 2 years it took for me to pass the bar has just grown. Im seriously considering a chapter 7. I've read the statute and was just wondering if there is anyopne out there that actually got some private loans through. Appreciate any responses.
