chapter 7- question about previous judgments being discharged

    hello,
i filed chapter 7 bankruptcy a couple years back and my debts were discharged. however, it seems now that there is a question as to whether or not liens that had previously received a judgment (before my bankruptcy case) are also considered discharged. can anybody help?

is there a particular law that does not allow previously judged liens to be discharged?

    thanks.

This is a tricky aspect of BK. Strictly speaking, once someone has a "lien", a lien is not discharged. So in a sense, the "lien" aspect of the judgment's still exist. What you are "supposed" to do once you get your discharge is file a notice of discharge with the court where the judgment was issued and follow whatever procedure the court has for expunging judgments.
