Trustee's Final Rpt/Acct-Asset filed on 01/19/2007 (didn't read the 18 pages yet), It's been 3 months since last filing and I was getting a little impatient. Anyways, I/we are hopeful that we are nearing the end. Anyone have an idea of how long after the Final Report is filed that the case will close?

BassBoy - why so long to close your case? Was the Trustee hoping to get some funds from the sheriff's sale of your home?
(the reason I ask is because when our loan got the stay lifted, the removal of stay specifically says that the Trustee retains interest in any surplus monies from the foreclosure sale - but they closed our case anyway - so, I thought that was interesting and just wondering if your Trustee was hoping for a payday?)

No assett from sale of home. Trustee stated that he was abandoning the property during our 341. There was not enough for him to get money. Although he did get part of income tax refund last year.......a whopping $676.....LOL! I guess that's what has taken so long. Our attorney did tell us that closing is normally about a year after discharge when there is/are assets.Bankruptcy History:

Your final report should have the trustee's request to be released from the case, and it might have a notice with an opportunity for hearing objections to it. If so, your case should be closed shortly after the passing of that objection deadline.Originally posted by BassBoy View PostTrustee's Final Rpt/Acct-Asset filed on 01/19/2007 (didn't read the 18 pages yet), It's been 3 months since last filing and I was getting a little impatient.
