I'm a mess! I'm looking to file chapter 7 on april 1. However, I'm concerned that the money that I gave my sister to pay off a debt that we transferred off my account to hers is going to get her into some more trouble. I've paid her 375 no the 7th of march and 520 on the 18th of Jan. So, if I wait till 4/19 it will have been over 90 days. Will that stop them from trying to go after the money I gave her?

I was told by my attorney that if any debts (money)were paid to family or friends that the trustee will ask for the money back, this covers a one year period. Hope this helps. -
If the amounts are relatively small, you don't really need to mention it, but it sounds like there is too much of a paper trail here...
And Flossy is right, transfers to "insiders" (i.e. family members) can be undone by the trustee for up to a year.Comment
