Actual Closing could take up to a year! Sometimes within weeks of Discharge. No one knows!

I was discharged on 1/17/2006 over a year ago, took this long for trustee to recover the one pref. payment and administer.............was just curious if they normally close the case shortly after paying themselves and the creditors ?

No one knows, but if that is the only thing that was holding the case open than HOPEFULLY the clerk will be able to CLOSE the case, I think sometimes you can call the clerk and inquire .. its just admin work .. sometimes they need a REMINDER.

          Hi Possumfat,

This is good news. It seems like your trustee has collected everything he believes he can collect, and is ready to accept creditor claims for distribution. I think that takes 60 days or so (for the claims to come in), and then at some point he distributes the funds.

See if you can pull up the underlying document from PACER - that will tell you exactly what he's collected.

As others have said it's pretty trivial at this point...

          Best of luck,
          spongenotbob

(51 weeks post-discharge, still open, still no-asset... very similar situation =)

hey sponge, the trustee has already collected the funds, the creditors who have filed claims for distribution have done that, trustee has submitted his final report/costs for his services and mailed the notice to see if there are any objections...........period of response is 23 days according to the pacer entry. If there are no objections the trustee will pay himself and the one creditor who filed a claim to recieve the distribution. Trustee collected around $7500 with his costs totaling around $1500, lone creditor gets the rest.

Should it not close at least 30 - 60 days after the distribution ?

Ah cool. You're done. Only 1 creditor replied huh? Interesting...

I think once the 23 days is out you can probably call the Clerk of the Court to have it closed?

              Congratulations!!!!
