    You still don't have the $$ to pay back nothing changes except that the banks can still harass you?

    There are really two issues here...

    1. If your BK is simply dismissed (this usually occurs for technical reasons, i.e. not filing all the paperwork on time, etc), then you cannot refile BK for 6 months, and yes, you owe all your creditors as before. Moreover, if you do turn around and refile in 6 months, you will have to rebutt the presumption that your refiled BK is not abuse.

    2. If, however, you are denied a discharge...that is very bad. If you are denied discharge (this usually occurs if you committed substantial fraud or abuse), then you can NEVER discharge any of the debts that were included in the BK.
