Value of savings bonds...

We will be filing with Federal exemptions. Dh's parents have been giving our two little ones a savings bond for each of their birthdays. We have just been putting them away in the lock box.

They are issued in the kids' names, but it seems with the Federal exemptions we have to count their things, right? Anyone have any experience on how you handled these? I admit to knowing little about them. Our kids are only 7 and 8 if that makes any difference.

There is a section on your bankruptcy petition for Property held for another person. This is where you list all property owned by another person that the debtor holds or controls. This would be where your childrens accounts go.
Our kids each have savings accounts where birthday money and such goes. These accounts were listed in this section and were not considered our assets.
