I am considering filing chapter 7 BK in near future and was curious about how long after filing I should wait before trying to find a new job, just in case it would have a impact on the BK.
Probably best to follow the advice of your attorney, but I have read here and been instructed by my attorney to wait at least until after the 341 hearing...
Depending on your specific circumstances, the Trustee could try and push you into a BK13 if they can prove good income directly after filing...
Not saying it would happen, just a possibility.
I'm waiting, I would rather not have the hassle of errant Trustee's and the spectacle of one seeking to prove I'm trying to get away with something... gotcha! and all that....
The new law has been interpeted as allowing for the consideration of future income/windfall (whatever that is) in determining dischargeability.
I'm in a position to afford a very austere lifestyle, perhaps most are not.
