I just received a copy of my bankruptcy petition from my attorney. I noticed that he didn't list my medical expenses. I tried calling, but I'm not getting through. Can anyone tell me if I'll be able to add them later on? What should I do? They don't amount to much, just $2000, but I want to make sure they are included in my bankruptcy. Thanks.

Has your bankruptcy been filed already or are you just receiving them to look over and sign? Of course the obvious answer if it's the latter just have him correct it. If it has already been filed, you can ammend your creditors matrix. Usually an attorney will charge for doing that unless you can let them know they left it off and you have provided them the information to have it included to begin with. Now for the other part, even if you left it off, in some instances lately it seems that any debt that was dischargable at the date of filing will and can be discharged whether they are listed or not, I believe. You should be sure to advise your lawyer of this oversight though."Try to save money. Someday it may be valuable again." - Anonymous

Thank you for the quick response. My bankruptcy has already been filed and yes, I did provide them with the information. I'll just give my attorney a call tomorrow and hopefully he will take care of it for me.

I have been hearing the same thing lately. I don't believe I (or they) forgot anything else, but I hope that's true just in case.

Only in Chapter 7 no asset cases is that true.Originally posted by annamollie View Post"even if you left it off, in some instances lately it seems that any debt that was dischargable at the date of filing will and can be discharged whether they are listed or not."
