    Question about repossession

If you give up a vehicle in bankruptcy, but are current on payments up until you file, do they still mark on your credit report "repossession?"

But that doesn't sound right to me

We are also giving up our house in bankruptcy and I know they are not going to leave the foreclosure off our record, so why would they with a vehicle?

Unless you home went into foreclosure before you filed bankruptcy..... then a foreclosure should NOT be on your credit report regarding the home.

Same as the vehicle....... if it was surrendered in bankruptcy it is NOT A REPOSSESSION...... if this shows on your credit report as a REPO dispute it and make them correct it...... You turned the item in - they did not repo it.

The home should only say - included in bankruptcy (unless you went to foreclosure)
The car should say - included in bankruptcy - unless you let them repo it....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

what constitutes foreclosure? The sheriffs sale or when you are 90 days in default?
