is that pretty much as good as a discharge (other than the discharge being official)? Does that mean that they are not going to fight the discharge and the next 60 days should go without a hitch?

Also, should I try to apply for another card now? Or wait for discharge?

What about cards that aren't showing cancelled? Can I use them?

Don't even bother applying for credit until you are discharged.... there's no point and you will generate inquiries which lower your score in futility. As to cards not showing canceled, I would not even try using them - expect bad things should you try. If you included them in BK, you are not allowed to use them.

Oh, zero balances means nothing. They do that when they receive notice of your filing (or at least they are supposed to). You have to sweat out the 60 days - anything can happen.

I was hoping to avoid the higher interest rates, etc. if I already had open accounts. Don't want to get in more debt, just to rebuild.
