Filed on the 30th and have questions

where do you look for updates on Pacer, is it in the docket section? I went there and it says the name of our trustee, and then under that is says US Trustee, but no name, does that mean the US Trustee is going to be involved?

There is your chapter 7 Trustee, and then there is the US Trustee. The UST oversees and reviews what the Chap7 Trustee does. Everybody has a trustee, a UST and a bankruptcy judge assigned to their case.

The UST asked to see quite a bit more documentation from me. I provided it, and haven't heard a peep since.

If you are worried about this, then spend some time getting supporting paperwork from the last several years ready in case you need it - pay stubs from previous year or two, credit card applications and statements, mortgage papers, bank statements, auto loans, tax returns for last five years - that kind of stuff. The worst part for me was gathering and copying all this stuff in the time frame allowed - if I had had it ready, I would have been less stressed out by it.

I did call the UST's office, and found them to be helpful and not the least bit threatening. They're just doing their jobs, and they told me that 98 1/2 % of this paperwork is just filed without further ado.

    Try not to worry.

You should be able to find info in either the Docket Report or under History/Documents.

Since you only filed a couple days ago, maybe the info just hasn't been filled in yet.

Your Docket report will show your name and address, Joint Debtor's name and address if applicable, your Judge, Trustee, UST, and your attny's as well.

History/Documents will be a step by step account of what's happened in your case.

Either way, you can find info in both places.

I also completely freaked out when I saw the UST name, the first time I looked at pacer. It does not mean that they will be involved. You wont find that out until later.

I always looked at the docket report to see what was going on.

        Good luck to you.
