    Trustee deadline

From my understanding, the Trustee only has about 60 days after the 341 meeting to decide if they want to extend the case or not and if they don't then the case should normally be closed within 30 days after the 60 days. Is this true? What can I do afterwards if the Trustee doesn't file an extension before the 60-day deadline?

The Trustee filed objections a while back waiting for information, but has not filed anything since, nor written to us. It has been several months since our 341 meeting and we want to know what we can do to move this process along to closure.

    Thanks

    Bob

From everything I've read in this forum, it sure sounds like there are no deadlines and that a Trustee can keep a case open as long as they feel necessary.

    Discharged: 03/28/07

Objections change everything, and essentially put the process in stasis.

An objection can freeze the clock, until it is resolved. This is what youa re likely experiencing.

The point of an objection, really, is clarification. The trustee wants more information. Until he/she receives the information, there isn't much you can do.

Sometimes obejections can hold up things an egregious amount of time. Just ask Granny, who posts on this board.

      Pain in the ass? Undoubtedly.

Serve any real purpose? I dunno.

It sure can slow down the process though, and that can be tough.

      best wishes,
