Do trustees come to you house to verify assets

I was wondering if trustees actually come to your house to verify assets??? The section where you list items in your home do they come out to verify???

Nobody will come to your house unless, the trustee suspects fraud or substantial abuse.

They "can" do so if they wish, but they rarely do. The only time I have seen trustee's send anyone anywhere is if there is a business involved and the trustee wants to see what the business assets are, or if there is a non-exempt vehicle, the trustee may send someone to look at it.

Our paralegal said the Trustee might want to know about your things, but they won't come themselves. They usually send the appropriate professional. Someone who knows about the item(s) the Trustee is interested in. An Art Dealer for works of Art. An Antique Dealer for furniture items.

At that, the paralegal said it's rare that the Trustee even does that. Generally high income filers who might have assets that cannot be covered by Exemptions, or as HHM mentioned, businesses. Chances are good, unless you fall into a high risk category, no one associated with the Trustee will come to your home.
