discharged means debts are discharged closed means they are no longer looking for assets or "watching you" after it is closed it is officially over sometimes it is discharged and closed in the same day but it is not all over until closedSometimes life make you deal with ugly and hateful people ,just think of them as sand paper. They may scratch you and rub you the wrong way but eventually you end up smooth and polished and the sand paper becomes old and worn out.

It really differs from state to state, or maybe district to district. Some states discharge and close on the same date or a day or two after while others are set to close automatically a week or two after discharge. In my state, closing comes roughly a 30~45 days after discharge and I think it is done manually by a clerk.Originally posted by NoName View PostHow long does it typically take until your case goes from discharged to closed?
Check PACER and do a search on your trustee and find cases with the same Trustee, US Trustee and Judge. You should see a trend of how long the "team" typically takes to discharge and close a case.Filed: 12-06

Depends on the Court as AlmostThere said.Originally posted by NoName View PostHow long does it typically take until your case goes from discharged to closed?
Our Court has waiting periods.
Once your last day for Objections passes, Discharge is issued a week later.
After your final Notice is posted, the Clerk waits 30 days to Close. At that, the Clerk only Closes cases once a month, at the end of each month.
In our Court, if your last official Notice was early in a month, Closing would be nearly 2 months from then. We were declared No Asset the middle of month and the Clerk Closed our case almost 6 weeks later.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
