I decided to call my trustees office just to be on the safe side and they said I should be fine and if the trustee needs anything from me she will call or have her assistant call and the only thing she would be concerned of is if there is any equity changes from the renovations but they dont think I will hear from her. They said it is something I have to call her office to report but nothing as far as paperwork to be filed with the courts so everyone was right I have to report it but it does not change anything

I'm glad your mind can be at ease. Since your case was an asset case that explains why they would be concerned about changes in home equity. In a no asset case like mine, receiving an insurance settlement which is not one of those 3 categories I listed would not need to be reported. As long as the right to receive it came after your filing day it's yours free and clear. A later boost in income may make the trustee feel you can now repay your debts, but they have no legal control of that new income, just what's in the estate.

No my case is a no asset case. But the trustee office said it is just somthing that they like to be informed on if it happens before discharge and close after close they dont care but it doesnt change anything and I really dont know why they make me report it their excuse was just in case the renovations make it go up in value and it puts me over the eemption amt but it wont because I am so far from that line it would take a whole new house to make it go up in value 40,000.00 which is what it would take to bring me above the exemptionSometimes life make you deal with ugly and hateful people ,just think of them as sand paper. They may scratch you and rub you the wrong way but eventually you end up smooth and polished and the sand paper becomes old and worn out.
