    Which counts net or gross?

Do they go by your net or gross income. Since we are losing the house we lose the write off on taxes. I don't need a tax problem on top of all of this. But we paid a small amount last year. But now I am not working and we have only one child to deduct, we make over the median but with the exemptions at least for now we are under but I have been figuring net.
    Filing January 08.

When a mistake becomes a lesson was it really a mistake?

If you are talking about "income" for the "means" test, they go by "gross" income.

    Form B22 is fairly self-explanatory...
Typically on Line 2 or 3, the form will ask for: Gross wages, salary, tips, bonuses, overtime, commissions.

Is it Gross if you are self employed also...that is, having to take out money each month myself to pay quarterly taxes? I think it is but would love to hear from someone that is going thru this situation also.

I think there is a section on the Means Test to list quarterly taxes...correct?
