Have not filed yet, but had to use a card to purchase

    Ok,

I was broke, but had enough to make the minimum payment for a dept store CC to use it .
My3 kids needed some clothes. So we went on ahead and made a payment @ the department store, then afterwards, used the credit card and got about $40.00 worth of clothes. Now, since I have yet to file, was this ok? I plan to cut all my cards up today. This CC does not have a huge balance, maybe $150.00 on it. It's actually my lowest cc balance on all of them. I am thinking of maybe paying it off the as for the rest, they have not been used for 2 months now, except this one this weekend. help>?

Also should I just call and close all my CC with the banks?

Nobody is worried about a $40 charge. It's not a luxury item.
If you're filing bk, what would closing cards accomplish? Just stop using them and file asap.

      Just quit using the cc......
Do not close any cc accounts or bank accounts prior to filing bankruptcy..... throws up a red flag for the trustee to start poking around......

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
