    Things Going OK For Now

Well I spoke to my attorney last week. He said I could borrow from a family member to get caught up on the house but to tell the family member I couldn't pay them back (even though I will). Anyway, my hubby spoke to my mom, and she was absolutely wonderful. I didn't want to involve her in this (mainly do to my pride), but she was great. She lent us the money we needed to get this process going. Thanks Mom!! We also were able to sell our motorcycle over the weekend, and made only $50 less then we hoped, so that was good. It was tough for my hubby to do that, but he's ok. Also sold a few other items. Have enough money to get caught up on the house, pay the attorney, and we bought a old car. It's not in that bad of shape, couple minor things to take care of. But's it paid for and insurance is dirt cheap, that's the good news. So we are meeting with the attorney on Thursday to start the filing process. He did the means test, and we qualify for Chapter 7. He also was impressed with our spending habits in the last year, we only paid bills, no luxury items or dinners out or anything that would look bad. Commended us for going as long as we did after my hubby took the huge paycut a few years back at his job, and how frugally we have been living recently.

So things are beginning to look up a bit. Yeah!! This site has been informative, and I'm glad it is here. Nice talking with people who understand and don't look down on you for filing BK.

Glad to hear you have "taken the bull by the horns" and doing what you need to do to file BK and get your finances back on the right track again.....

It's hard - but it's well worth all the effort and problems involved.... you won't be sorry....

Work together as a team, (sounds like you already are) and it won't take long for things to change to a "fresh start" for both of you....

Keep us posted, let us know what the attorney says, and vent if you need too...... believe me - we ALL understand....

I feel much better this week then I did last week thanks to my mom. My hubby said she was crying on the phone and more concerned with how I was doing then us having to borrow money. She told my hubby, "it's just money, I don't care." So I owe her big time, but that is ok. She's always been a great mom and this is just another thing to prove that.

Knowing that things are in order and we are going to file this week has been a huge step and I'm feeling so much better. Sleeping better to. Kids are great, they actually offered us their few dollars in their savings account to help us get through. Started to cry at that, what great kids they are.

      So it's looking up.

Glad you feeling better about the whole situation and glad that "mom" was there to be able to help with the filing fees, lawyer fees, and catching house payments back up.....

Mom's are like that - it is only money...... but in the future be sure that mom gets it back - even if its $10.00 at a time......

Things will get better, it just going to take a little while to get it all under control....

          Hang in there.....
